The Boys and Girls Club
 of Richland County
The mission statement of Boys & Girls Club is "To inspire and enable all young people to realize their full potential and become productive, responsible and caring citizens.”

Boys & Girls Club of Richland County is an after-school program for children in kindergarten through 12th grade designed to provide a safe place for kids to learn and grow.

Boys & Girls Club is a place where ongoing relationships with caring adult professionals occur and where life-enhancing programs and character development experiences happen.
The Boys & Girls Club of Richland County is proud to be a part of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, a 152 year old national movement that serves 4.2 million youth with 51,000 trained professional staff members at some 4,000 clubs in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and military bases around the world. Originally formed in 1860 in Hartford, CT by a group of women as a positive alternative to the streets for boys, it became an affiliated organization in 1906 in Boston, MA when 53 clubs joined to become the Federated Boys Club, becoming the Boys Club of America in 1931 and was chartered by the United States Congress in 1956. The national organization officially became the Boys & Girls Clubs of America in 1991.

 a club with PLANS
FOR a NEW home

Having relocated within Central Grade School a couple of times since 2005, the Club is very excited for the opportunity presented with the Lonsdale Methodist Church signing over the church property to the Club. Plans are ongoing for remodeling and building to serve the needs of our members and staff, as well as being able to have the property continue to function as the church for the Methodist members.

The Club currently serves about 160 students and has been showing growth each year. The Club strives to provide for as many youth as possible, a goal that has been difficult previously due to the limited classroom space at Central. Currently we are looking at plans on the remodeling project as well as building classrooms and a gym to serve our kids.

Membership is open to all youth in Richland County for nominal annual membership dues of $75 ($125 for a family membership) but no child is turned away due to inability to pay. Fees for the after school program and activities are $40 per month with scholarships available.
